Sometimes I felt with a lot of information in my mind, but it is necessary to know to change. My challenge is to be an agent of change in our Panamanian Education. Teaching a second language in our schools is not easy but giving our classes using all the tools taught by our professors we can have a fun class, but I am confused with lesson planning that I did because In Panama we planned with siop is different , but we must always go beyond learning.
I think a lot of people (regardless of their home country) mistake content with process with regards to lesson planning. What we really want you and your colleagues to know and apply is the process of FIRST making concrete decisions regarding what you want Ss to be able to do (because language is a skill, not simple knowledge) and SECOND letting those objectives guide your lesson planning.
ReplyDeleteAlso, there is often a difference between a WORKING lesson plan and a FORMAL DETAILED lesson plan. You would obviously never write such a detailed lesson plan when you go to work, but when someone needs to understand the complete lesson, details are needed.
