    Comparing   Publics School from Panama and United States

Advantages in Public School from United States:

1. it looks like a private school because  I could see that they have everything or in other words all resources that students need,
2. Students stayed at school more time,
3. May be the curriculum of education is more student-center.
4. They use a lot Technology ,teachers use videos  for each class.
5. Math class they enjoyed  because  they played counting paper clips or other kind of materials.
6. Poster that they have on the wall helps to them to reinforce any class given by the teacher.

Disadvantages in Our Public School:

1. This is not our real life because  in my  school we don't  have all the resources and sometimes is difficult to give a class , only we have a one projector for whole  school.
2. Something we don't have enough space  in the classroom for our English posters.
3. They are more updated and allows students to think,and analyze.
4. It is a problem for us, We want do  a lot things but sometimes we can't it.

Our hope is that our government makes changes in whole public schools.

Program in country

      This program reminded me that in my country,  we have a program  named " My farmer". it teaches the people who is  living in the fields to plant, or raise animals like chickens, pigs, and cows. 

     The government  visited different places  and they selected what places star with the program, people firstable  took  classes  for 4 months after they have to work in community . 

they  could see  theirs efforts  when harvest corn, rice, beans, after that they can sell their products and in that way they help their familes.

     It was  very interesting , and answer my questions , many years ago when I was at the university           one of my professor assigned a research  about Clinton as President. I could find few information or       no idea who is he?  I never thought I was going to visit the museum. That was  suprised .  One of           my question was where were all presents given by different contries that he visited.
     I understood , when I could see  thepresents in exhibition. Everything  was so interesting, but for me
    the most important was different places  that he visited because I was thinking in my assigned.

   

Public Library

   


         My visit to the public library was exciting I really admire the American culture that since childhood is teaching children to  love  to the reading, seeing the children so enthusiastic singing or listening to the story attentively  I admired that  because  hopefully in  my country I had the opportunity to develop  a program  like this ,  in Panama does not have the habit of reading. Working in high school  I  could see that the young people did not like to read . Really was nice experience where I can use ways to make reading more fun.

My classes

           

Sometimes I felt with a lot of information in my mind, but it is necessary to know to change. My challenge  is to be an agent of change in our  Panamanian Education. Teaching a second language in our schools is not easy but giving our classes using all the tools taught by our professors we can have a fun class, but I am  confused with lesson planning  that I did because In Panama we planned with siop is different , but we must always go beyond learning.

Games

   Games is a way to make a class fun, and it is a direct method for student learning, and it is a way for students to express or develop their skills,
  I learned a lot, now the step is how I'm going to develop them in my class, I think I have to develop games in which the students will talk with other  so they will lose the fear of speaking English. Students  do not want to speak  because they do not want make mistake . Give the directions before the game. It will be a challenge but I want to be an innovative teacher.

Life Style

     
 My visit  at  Life Style was interesting because seeing that people with  special needs can help them to function in society, seeing young people who are studying at  university career,  despite their special needs can develop a common life.

Recently in Panama an inclusion program was made, which means students with special needs go  their regular classes when they are already evaluated by a special  teacher and a psychologist, they make the decision and they are integrated  to the classrooms , The psychologist gives suggestions  to the English Teachers. Following the suggestions one can carry out our  work a little easier, and often the fear as one will try to explain a class to a student with special needs.

My Birthday

   
 My Birthday was on January 26, I felt sad because I felt  so far  from my house, I did not to say  nothing
 to my new friends from Panama Bilingue. Suddenly someone told them , they began to prepare  a get together , for  me was a surprised really I did not wait anything,  I missed  my parents in that day .
 My friends bought everything ,  we did it our get together was wonderful ,  sharing a good time, taking about our classes, taking also about that this experience is amazing because many teachers in Panama do not have the opportunityso,  we have to take advantage of it. it is not easy to leave our family , but it is a challenge that give us the opportuniy to grow profesionally my personally. We finished our conversation telling we are so happy in Arkansas we have the best professors, for closing our get together we danced, this get together was short but a significant time for all.

My class about preopositions

       

In this class I felt confused because I could not understand, In that moment I was in shock, I just                   waitnig or well looking all things that professor did it. I thought how many of my students felt like me, but for me was a learning, may be  I do not have time to complete my goals in my school, because our time is short for our classes, I learned that using short classes and interactive activities , students even if they do not speak the language can learn in quick an easy way. After I fett more confortable enjoying the class.

True color

True color this class I en joyeria because I didn't know anthing about my color I'm blue I relate my color blue: in my life all the time helping others and I'm peaceful person, I would like to apply this lesson to my students because I can know the feelings of them and I can understand many things about them. 

My first experience in United states

This experience for me is Wonderful, I feel like in my home, people that are guiding us are patient, the organization of the program is excellent, really I feel blessing because its is a great opportunity to improve  my English in many ways. I will learn new knowledge to apply in my work. This is a blessing for me.
